ASL-English Interpreter Training
Union County College (NJ)
In addition to this course, I incorporated disability perspectives into the Deaf studies and ASL-English Interpreter training work I did at Union County College in a variety of capacities. Most formally, this took the form of being the program’s coordinator and one of its full-time instructors in 2017 and early 2018.
In this capacity I taught the following courses:
- Text & Discourse Analysis
- English-ASL Interpreting
- ASL-English Interpreting
- Ethics and Role of the Interpreter (multiple times)
- Advanced Topics in Interpreting
Previous to this position, I worked as an adjunct in 2016 and early 2017, and also was involved in field mentorship of intern interpreters in 2015 and 2016. I worked professionally as an ASL-English interpreter for seven years, from 2010-2017.
